Penny Lacey

November 2006

Penny came from the Maritimes to work in The Pas – for ONE year. Twenty years later, as a devoted wife, mother and nurse, she was still very happy with her life in The Pas! Penny worked in all areas of the hospital until she found her “niche” on Obstetrics. She was the best kind of nurse who constantly found ways to become even better for the patients. Her latest desire was to become a Lactation Consultant – which she accomplished. She was truly devoted to helping new moms and babies have the best start possible. She would often say “What’s best for the patient?” Penny was loyal, committed, dependable and absolutely tireless. She was a feminist and believed strongly in womens’ rights, good healthy living, breastfeeding and recycling. She was passionate about fighting for what was right! She loved to laugh.
