The Manitoba Nurses Union (MNU) offers a variety of educational opportunities to members, including several training opportunities for internationally educated nurses.  

MNU Education Day is an event held annually at the AGM that helps rejuvenate members in the enjoyment of both their personal and professional lives. Set with a positive tone, motivational guest speakers offer insight into taking care of yourself within a challenging and changing profession. 

MNU Labour School is annual educational event regarding a variety of union and labour topics including respect in the workplace, the grievance arbitration process, and the administration of a Local/Worksite. The intent is to provide an educational experience for both novice and seasoned union activists, in relaxed social setting that promotes interaction among members. This year, Labour School will held in Gimli, MB from September 20-22.

Canadian Culture and Communication for Nurses is a cultural communications program for internationally-educated nurses in Manitoba, Canada. The program has been designed specifically for practicing nurses and those seeking employment as nurses. Learn more.

Retirement in a Nutshell, Benefit Basics, and Financial Care Planning Strategy workshops are also offered to members free of charge. The MNU provides these services to help nurses at various stages of their career manage their resources effectively. Learn more.  

Administration of a Local Workshop is designed to equip leaders new to their elected positions with the tools that they need to provide leadership to their worksite/local.Attention will be given to the roles and responsibilities of each executive position, handling grievances, dealing with management, strategic planning and budget preparation, conducting effective meetings and motivating the membership.
