Nurses from across the province will meet in Winnipeg for the MNU's 34th Annual General Meeting. Around 500 delegates will debate a number of issues, including increasing pay for charge nurses. The meeting at the Victoria Inn and Conference centre located at 1808 Wellington Avenue will also feature the following speakers: Sandi Mowat: The MNU president will address the delegates April 27 at 9:30 a.m. Wayne Helgason: Executive Director of the Social Planning Council of Winnipeg will talk about the numbers and trends of poverty in the city and the government's position. (April 27 at 1:30 p.m.) Charly Pazdor with Eckler Ltd. will talk about the major challenges facing defined benefit pension plans. (April 28 at 1:30 p.m.) Darci Lang: A Saskatchewan entrepreneur and motivational speaker will challenge delegates to focus on the 90 per cent that is positive in their lives instead of the 10 per cent that is not.
