MNU AGM kicks off Tuesday |

WINNIPEG - Nurses from across the province will convene in Brandon, on April 20-21, for MNU's 35th Annual General Meeting. Over the course of two days, the 500 delegates will debate a number of issues.
The AGM will be held at the Keystone Centre, located at 1175 18th Street, and will feature the following speakers:

Sandi Mowat - The MNU president will address the delegates on April 20th at 10:30 a.m.

Tilda Shalof - A staff nurse in the Medical- Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Toronto General Hospital, who has written four internal best-sellers, will speak about the ability of nurses to effect change by speaking up on behalf of their patients and the health care system. (April 20 at 1:30 a.m.)

Deanne O'Rourke - The Coordinator for the Research to Action pilot project, a national strategy to attract and retain nurses to work in specfic acreas, will provide a summary of the project which ends in April. She will also discuss the benefits to the nurses participating in the project and all evaluations findings to date.

Gregg Hanson - The United Way of Winnipeg's 2010 Camapign Chair will speak about the organization's plans and goals for the upcoming year.
