| AGM Education Day rejuvenates members |

Nurses attended an inspiring MNU Education Day at the 2008 AGM on April 30, 2008. Education Day is designed to help rejuvenate members in the enjoyment of both their personal and professional lives. Set with a positive tone, presenter Barb Fry offered insight into taking care of oneself within a challenging and changing profession. The morning sessions included Thriving in a Challenging Workplace, which offered participants an opportunity to consider the impact of our changing world of healthcare, patient care, workplace relationships and quality of work life. The afternoon featured Got Gap? The Multi-generational Workplace, where participants learned about the forces that shape each generation, their characteristics, values and how workplace relationships can help maximize team potential.Barb Fry has been a staff nurse, nursing instructor and nurse manager in mental health. Today she is an adult educator, professional speaker and workplace consultant who helps nurses improve their quality of work life by promoting and creating healthy workplace relationships. |
