Dauphin Greylisting to Stay

After touring the Dauphin Regional Health Centre and meeting with nurses MNU President Sandi Mowat says that the Greylisting put into effect last December will not be lifted any time soon.

Mowat says that there has not been enough progress made.

"I had hoped that during the summer changes would have been made to improve the situation but little has been done. There have been too many committees, too many meetings and too little action."

Local and provincial union leaders are presently reviewing research recently commissioned by the Parkland Regional Health Authority. The RHA contracted Probe Research to undertake a review of best practices for a regional facility pertaining to service curtailment in light of nursing shortages, staffing levels and bed management.

Mowat will be reporting to the provincial Board next week on the findings
