Effective April 1,2010 MNU members and their families will have access to a Health Care Spending Account (HSA) through Manitoba Blue Cross.  The HSA can be used to pay for health and dental expenses in excess of your existing benefit maximums and is a tax efficient way to pay for eligible expenses. 

All members of the Healthcare Employees' Benefits Plan (HEBP) are eligible for a HSA.  The start date of your coverage is dependent on several factors which are outlined in an information pamphlet currently being mailed out to all members.  The pamphlet also includes information on coverage details, coordination of HSA benefits with spouse, submitting a claim and contact informatiion shoulld you have further questions.

Applications for the HSA will be available through your employer as well as HEBP.
