Nurses from across the province will meet in Winnipeg for the Manitoba
Nurses’ Union 34th Annual General Meeting, where approximately 500
delegates will debate a number of issues, including issues related to
upcoming bargaining.
This year’s AGM, located at the Victoria Inn and Conference Centre –
1808 Wellington Avenue in Winnipeg, features the following speakers:
1. Sandi Mowat
Monday, April 27 at 9:30 a.m.
MNU president, Sandi Mowat, will address the delegates – reviewing the issues and successes of the past year – and welcoming the challenges of the coming year.
2. Wayne Helgason
Monday, April 27 at 1:30 p.m.
Wayne Helgason, Executive Director of the Social Planning Council of Winnipeg, will report on “Poverty in Winnipeg”, detailing the numbers, the trends, and the government’s position.
3. Charly Pazdor
Tuesday, April 28 at 1:30 p.m.
Charly Pazdor, Consulting Actuary with Eckler Ltd. – Winnipeg, will present recommendations for planning for the future and dealing with the challenges of defined benefit pension plans.
4. Darci Lang
Wednesday, April 29 at 8:55 a.m.
MNU “Education Day” presenter, Darci Lang, is a Saskatchewan entrepreneur and motivational speaker, who will challenge delegates to “Focus on the 90%” that is positive in their lives, instead of the 10% that is not.
