MNU pledges funds for Haiti |

The Manitoba Nurses' Union (MNU) board passed a motion to contribute $5000 to help in the relief effort, following a devastating earthquake in Haiti.
This is part of a joint effort launched by the National Executive Board of the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU). The CFNU put the relief initiative in motion by contributing $5000 to the fund.
The funds collected will be sent to Doctors Without Borders (Medicin Sans Frontiere).
The 7.0 magnitude earthquake wreaked havoc on the impoverished island nation on January 12, 2010, leaving an estimated 2 million Haitians without a place to live and lacking the basic necessities. It is estimated that the death toll will reach 200,000.
