MNU President Sandi Mowat continued her touring last week with a stop at the Breast Health Centre at St. Boniface Hospital. The centre receives both women and men of any age who show signs of breast-related health problems. Patients come from as far away as Nunavut.

Mowat met with some of the staff during her visit including the centre's Director Tania Sloan, and a multi-disciplinary team (pictured below) that coordinates assessments, diagnostics tests, treatment, education and support for patients.

The Centre receives approximately 80 referrals per week. In 2008, 539 patients were diagnosed with breast cancer.
