The Manitoba Nurses Union is giving members a chance to win one of 10 fully funded spots to attend Prairie Labour School. untitled-1.jpg

This is an opportunity for nurses from Manitoba to meet with nurses from Alberta and Saskatchewan to discuss challenges faced in the workplace and work together to create solutions.

The courses and workshops range from balancing professional responsibilities and union opportunities to the challenges and merits of applying a nurse to patient ratio strategy to Canada’s health system.

To participate in the contest applicants must submit an essay on how they plan to apply their learning experience in their workplace. The deadline for submission is April 2, 2012.

The labour school can accommodate 150 participants and 50 seats are allocated to each province. Members wishing to attend, but who do not want to participate in the contest, should contact their local/worksite in regards to funding for this event.

There is a $500 registration fee to attend this event.

Prairie Labour School will be held in Canmore, AB from June 3-5, 2012.
