News of the tentative Central Table agreement garnered a lot of attention from media and the public due to the historic nature of how quickly this agreement was reached, especially compared to the last round.
We know that members who are in Central Table have questions, which is why we held five webinars last week and will be holding 11 more through today, tomorrow and Wednesday. To register for a webinar, you will need to do so with the email on file with Central Office.
As a reminder, these webinars are for Central Table members only. If you are unsure as to whether your Worksite/Local belongs to Central Table, please refer to the document listed on MNU‘s website.
Central Table members will vote on the tentative agreement starting on May 16 at 0001 hours until Friday, May 17, at 1600.
If you do not have a current email on file, you will not receive a link to vote, so please make sure your contact information is accurate and up-to-date.
Shifting gears, several of our guests to our recent MNU AGM commented on the positive energy in the room and not only did I wholeheartedly agree, I thank our members for making it so, because it really was all thanks to those in attendance!
The AGM was two days of insightful conversations, networking, and knowledge-building. We will be sending out a recap of what happened at the AGM to all members later this week.
For those that enjoyed the performance of the Winnipeg Nurses Choir at the Banquet, the choir is presenting a spring concert on Sunday, June 2 at 2 p.m. at Westworth United Church, at the corner of Lanark and Grosvenor. There will be a silver collection and attendees are asked to bring a tin for the bin for Harvest Manitoba.
Next year is our 50th anniversary AGM and our staff has already begun planning for this special event.
Finally, yesterday was May 12, International Nurses Day and the last day of National Nurses Week. We salute our members and continue to stand in unity with nurses across the country and across the globe in fighting for better healthcare systems here and everywhere!
