MNU sent out notices via email last week with information on votes that will be held regarding the new Regional Local structures for Shared Health and WRHA.

These notices were sent to all MNU members who have Shared Health as their Employer, either in a direct or non-direct capacity, and to members who have WRHA as their Employer in direct and non-direct capacities, as well as to the members who work at the private personal care homes within the city limits of Winnipeg. (Please see the list of sites below.)

These notices are in response to the government-imposed re-organization of Unions within Manitoba and corresponding adjustments to our MNU Board of Directors’ structure.

As a quick recap, the Manitoba Government of Brian Pallister passed Bill 29: The Health Sector Bargaining Review Act, which led to the Representation Vote in the summer of 2019.

The changes that came from the Representation Vote required an adjustment of our own internal structures and, as a result, we will need to adopt new Regional Constitutions. Please note: day-to-day financial and site operations will continue as before the forced amalgamation.

If you are unsure that your worksite belongs under the Shared Health Region or the Winnipeg region, please email membership@manitobanurses.ca  or contact your Labour Relations Officer.

If you already know that you are eligible for this vote and have not received an email, please contact us via voting@manitobanurses.ca and we’ll ensure your name is added to our voter registry.
