Linda Silas, President of the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU) said she is honoured to have been appointed to the Union-Led Advisory Table.

The Union-Led Advisory Table, which met for the first time on December 5, has been established by Employment and Social Development Canada to provide expert advice to the Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Official Languages, the Hon. Randy Boissonnault, and the Minister of Labour and Seniors, the Hon. Seamus O’Regan, in support of government priorities.

This follows the Government of Canada’s commitment in Budget 2022 to launch an advisory table that brings together unions and trade associations to advise the government on priority areas for helping workers navigate the changing labour market.

“Whether we’re solving challenges in the health workforce or the broader labour market, collaboration is key,” said Silas. “I look forward to what we can achieve together for nurses and all workers.”

Also appointed to this Advisory Table is Bea Bruske, President of the Canadian Labour Congress, who is from Manitoba.
