MNU members showed their pride last Sunday, June 2, at the Pride Winnipeg Parade during a lovely, warm afternoon that was thankfully not affected by the thunderstorm that came later in the day.
Dauphin’s Walk with Pride event took place on Saturday, June 1, and those in attendance enjoyed the great atmosphere and activities. Please check out the pictures from these events on our social media channels.
This year, the theme of the Pride Winnipeg Parade was ‘Transcend Together,’ meant to embody the collective strength and unity within the queer community. This theme embraced inclusivity, highlighted the diverse spectrum of identities within the queer community and fostered solidarity among all members. Together, we transcend barriers and stand strong in support of one another.
Coming up is the Brandon Pride event, which takes place on Saturday, June 15. It starts in front of Brandon City Hall at noon and then gathering at Rideau Park at 1 p.m. for Pride in the Park. If you have any questions regarding the Brandon event, please email MNU Vice-President Val Wotton at mnuvicepresident@manitobanurses.ca.
