Sarah King, an LPN at Misericordia Health Centre and President of Worksite 2, brought her energy and dedication front and center at MNU’s 2024 AGM. With her worksite taking charge of the AGM banquet, Sarah had one goal: give nurses a night to let loose and enjoy themselves.

“We wanted something simple and fun — so we went with a PJ theme,” Sarah said. “It was all about giving nurses a chance to kick back, no judgment, just a good time. And let me tell you, Manitoba nurses knew the assignment!”

Sarah stepped up to host for two reasons.

“I wanted to publicly thank Maureen Hancharyk, our past MNU President, for her leadership and dedication — an opportunity I never expected to have. And I wanted to give back to our union and show our appreciation for everything they do. As the kids say, we STAN Darlene and her crew!”

Sarah’s commitment is a reminder of what keeps our union strong — nurses lifting each other up.

With MNU’s 50th anniversary AGM coming up in 2025, we’re gearing up to mark this important milestone. It’s a chance to reflect on how far we’ve come and get fired up for what’s ahead.
