The Manitoba Nurses Union AGM is a crucial time for union business, but it’s also an opportunity to give back to our community in a big way.

Each year, the AGM banquet is organized by one of our worksites, which also selects a not-for-profit organization to receive our support. This year, Worksite 2 stepped up to plan the AGM banquet and chose Rossbrook House as the donation recipient.

Rossbrook House is a safe space for kids and youth in Winnipeg, providing essential services like meals, educational support, and a place to just be. On August 27, MNU President Darlene Jackson and Worksite 2 President Sarah King proudly presented Rossbrook House with a cheque for $21,870, raised through the efforts of our members, AGM attendees, and sales of the MNU x Hilary Druxman necklace—a piece designed to reflect the strength and commitment of nurses.

MNU will continue to donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the MNU x Hilary Druxman necklace until Spring 2025. This initiative not only helps raise funds but also serves as a reminder of the power of collective action.
