At MNU, we offer a wide range of resources to support our members, from expert advice to key events that build knowledge and connection. Here’s a breakdown of what’s available and who to reach out to for different concerns.
Local/Worksite Presidents & Executives
Your Local/Worksite President and Executive team are your go-to for questions about employer meetings, return to work programs, potential grievances, scheduling issues, overtime, workplace health and safety concerns and more. If you’re unsure about information you receive from a website, your Local/Worksite President or LRO can help verify it. Not sure who your President is? Ask a colleague or reach out to the MNU Provincial Office, and we’ll connect you.
Labour Relations Officers (LROs)
Our LROs are here to represent you, support your Local/Worksite Executives, and help with questions about your workplace, union rights, and provisions contained in your Collective Agreement. LROs receive information directly from your Local/Worksite President and/or Executive and provide them guidance and direction. All grievance documents are prepared by LROs at the MNU office and sent to the Local/Worksite for filing. Not sure who your LRO is? Use the LRO & Local/Worksite Locator tool on our website to easily locate yours.
Communications Team
The MNU Communications Team works hard to advocate for our members, from lobbying the government to sharing your stories. We also host educational events to keep you informed and engaged. If you’ve got a story to share or need more info, reach out to us at comms@manitobanurses.ca.
MNU Events
MNU hosts a number of important events throughout the year. The AGM is where you can connect with fellow members and take part in shaping the union’s direction. Solidarity School offers events with in-depth workshops on everything from workplace safety to labour relations. These events are a great way to learn, network, and stay engaged.
MNU has a lot to offer, but these resources are only as good as the use you get out of them. Whether you need support from your Local President, guidance from your LRO, or insight from the Communications Team, we’re here to help. And if you’re looking for something that’s not listed, reach out to Provincial Office, and we’ll do our best to assist.
If you have any questions, you can always reach out to Shelby Best at sbest@manitobanurses.ca.
