A new Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) is in place to improve access to the Provincial Travel Nurse Team (PTNT). We’ve heard from nurses that applying has been frustrating—few postings, long wait times, or no response at all. This MOA tackles those issues head-on.

Key changes:

  • No limit on casual PTNT positions unless the Employer eliminates all Agency use. Part-time and full-time position postings will still follow the Collective Agreement process.
  • Faster application process—all applications must be processed, with an offer letter issued, within 15 business days.

What members should know:

  • FTSE eligibility – All PTNT hours count toward Full-Time Salary Enhancement, no matter the Employer or region.
  • Extra pay & premiums – Nurses working in PTNT positions receive extra compensation and premiums for working outside their home site (see MOU #24 in the Collective Agreement for details).
  • Shift assignment – Site nurses usually get priority for extra available shifts, but PTNT nurses should be fully implemented at high-Agency-use sites. Employers must use site and PTNT nurses before turning to Agency.

Check the attached MOA for full details, and if you have questions, reach out to your Worksite President or LRO.
